Sunday in June

We went to church yesterday......Mom would have been happy. She loved going to services and really loved when I went. It was difficult to keep my composure because I kept thinking about her.

Blake had some neighborhood friends over and they were bouncing on the trampoline. They were using the waterhose and everyone got soaking wet....Mom would not have been happy with all of the water use! LOL!

Apache is doing well......he went for an adventure.....he went to Music in the Streets and walked around downtown Washington.......we still hear....my god, look at that dog.

Almost a year...

Wow it's been almost a year since Mom has passed away....yet I keep expecting her to call or wanting to tell her a million different things. Like our Christmas time and how Blake sang in the choir. There were so many other times that I know she was there and proud of us.

We went to a friends 1st Communion on the day of Blake's 9th birthday party. His party was at a bowling alley......and the boys had fun!
Who would have thought 1 year ago when we were planning Blake's Communion, that Mom would have passed away 2 months later? She was so proud of him and very peaceful. Life has changed so much....I miss my Mom and I wish she was here......but she's not. Blake misses his Grandma a great deal too. Whenever he gets quiet in church......or if he does something really wrong.........he starts crying for Grandma. He and my mom were very close and all three of us spent the last 4 years of her life living together. For that I will always be eternally grateful. There still wasn't enough time but if she lived to 99 there would have been 1 more question. Such is life and someday all of our answers will be answered. Until then, love who you are with and know that life is too short for regrets.

¿Nuts?

Great picture, but I can't help but wonder why my aunts are looking at my mother like she is nuts... Oh wait, I know why.

¡Hola de EspaƱa!

Well... I haven't written in my other blog and should probably be sleeping, but I just wanted to give a quick hello and say thanks to Chrislyn for putting this together. I bet Aunt Ann and Aunt Rae would get a kick out of it, I know my mom was touched.

It thought I would also mention that even though I couldn't be there when Aunt Ann passed away, I thought of you all everyday and it was a hard choice to make.

Over Christmas break I went into a very old and beautiful Spanish church and lit a candle in her memory. I know today is her birthday... not because I am good at remembering birthdays (as we all know I am not) but because my mom told me. In my heart, I light another candle and say a prayer for all of us today. I wish for good health and good fortune to all of us and those we love.
Salud,
Dana

Good times on the Cruise!

The first posting!

Hey Everyone!
I created this blog for all of us in memory of Anna Redes, my Mother. I realized how much she passed on to Blake and I in stories. There was always a time when....in our house.

Since our family is so scattered across the country and the world, our daily living details are disappearing from each others lives, I thought that maybe this could become a way for us to post pictures, daily happenings, joys and our struggles. It maybe easy to get on the computer and put it in a blog then to pick up the phone.

I miss all of you so much and I think of you so much. I talk to Blake about going to Aunt Rae's house, Aunt Rosie's and Stephanies........but there are so many other memories that need to be remembered, rejoiced and current ones celebrated.

So there is a way for you all to post to this blog and to receive emails when someone posts to this blog......I hope this blog is like our family.......goes forth and multiplies.....XOXOX..Chrislyn
